I would like to nominate Henry Hutton of SanDisk. Henry sits on IEEE
1667 and is marketing's liaison to our architects. He is well-versed in
building consensus, good at finding common ground in the face of
disagreement, and has a demonstrated ability to manage technical
contributors. From 1667, he understands key management and it should not
be a problem for him to learn the IETF process.

Nominations
All,
FYI, see message from IETF (Russ) below on KeyProv chair nominations
schedule. I believe Phill Hallam-Baker will be one nominee (please
confirm this Phill). We need at least one more to co-chair. RSA (Andrea
Doherty) has told me they are not planning to nominate a chair, but will
actively contribute.
Have a great holiday.
Stu

Subject: [Ietf-keyprov] KeyProv WG Chair Nominations
The charter text that was developed on this list is on the agenda for
discussion at the next IESG Telechat, which will take place on January
11th. Based on the overwhelming consensus to do this work that was
demonstrated at the BOF, I do not expect lengthy discussion.
The next step will be IETF-wide discussion of the proposed charter text.
That discussion will last two weeks. At the end of the discussion
period, the charter will again appear on the IESG Telechat agenda, this
time for WG Creation approval. We need to have candidates for the WG
Chair positions before we reach this point.
The O&M Area has been very successful in selecting WG Chairs through a
nominations process. We are trying in this yet-to-be-formed WG. I hope
we are as successful as the O&M Area.
The qualifications for chair of the KeyProv WG are:
* Familiarity with IETF process
* Solid understanding of key management
* Experience building consensus
* Good at finding common ground in the face of disagreement
* Demonstrated ability to manage technical contributors
Please send nominations for KeyProv WG Chair to me by January 8th. I
plan to select two co-chairs.
Thanks,
Russ
